i use whatever we have at work in our wash bay. i think we are supplied by Auto Magic still. we have the special water treatment thing, where you dont have to dry the car off, it will dry on its own and not leave spots.

We use something similar but, our water is so hard, it can't help to leave calcium deposits. When it does, we simply spray on the Optimum No Rinse and wipe it right off. In between wax, I sometimes wash the whole car with a half quart spray bottle with 1 ounce of Optimum and the rest filtered water. I then follow it up with a quick detail spray. I think I paid $30 for a gallon bottle. I've been using it on both cars for almost a year now... same gallon!

Patrick from ExcelDetail.com is on this forum, hopefully he can chime-in to explain.

bringing this back up because I've recently started washing with a new method and it works very well.

I've been using the 2 bucket method for years (http://www.detailcity.com/how-to-wash-your-car.html)
With a grit guard in the 'clean' soapy water bucket, a big floppy noodle mit, and megs gold class wash. I dry with a large waffle weave megs absorber MF towel.

I recently added a $30 200mph 2spd electric leaf blower to my arsenal, and it cut my drying time in half, and I don't have to wring out my drying towel or use multiple ones anymore, even if I wash all 5 of my cars at the same time!

The leaf blower is on our list! It will help with the water spot issues. Plus, we need to wash some hard to get to spots in the engine bay. Where did you get yours?

Home Depot, the next step up is $40 but all it adds is a vacuum/mulching function, since this is dedicated to the cars only I don't want that option.
