When the SEMA show ended on Friday 5th, 51 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Cars hit Las Vegas Blvd enroute to their first Checkpoint for pictures and briefing to start the OPTIMA Challenge weekend. Each year, Optima Battery hosts an invitational at the to the baddest Street Cars at SEMA (Click Here for details (http://www.westcoastgearheads.com/showthread.php/1846-PR-2010-OPTIMA-Invitational-to-Premiere-on-SPEED-Friday-March-11-at-8-p-m-ET?p=5818#post5818)).
I was there and captured the moments from the time the cars rolled onto the street through to a full day of gruesome competitions to find out who was the of the baddest of the baddest! With several hundred photos logged that day, I've summarized a few for your viewing pleasure and will with post up a couple of short videos and more photos.
Our upcoming SEMA Edition Magazine will include an article and featured photos. I was fortunate to be invited to ride along with two of the OUSCI drivers in both of their cars on Friday night during the pre-event rallye. In the article, the drivers share what it took prepare their car to be invited to this special OPTIMA Challenge event (Both cars are displayed below):

An 800+ power plant with tight pro-touring suspension,
this '56 Chevy mastered the course with the rest of them!
1832
With just over 550 RWHP is this baby,
it abused the twisties and spanked the front and back stretches.
Here are a variety of photos taken throughout the day
