I just got back late Friday night from a visit to my buddy, Bruce, up in Sacramento. We hit some huge private car collections, of some very cool people. Here are a few, of the hundreds of pics, from the garages we visited.

The first set is from Charley's large collection....

The newest car to his collection.. a 1966 Ford Failane 500XL. The original owner of this car took it right off the dealers lot.. straight over to Holman & Moody. He told them to build him a street legal NASCAR. It has 1966 NASCAR suspension, brakes, wheels, motor, trans, etc.

Here is the power plant H&M installed in 1966.... a NASCAR prepped 427 SOHC.

Charlie owns the largest collection of Mark Steilow built Camaros too. Here are the 3 in his shop right now. A 4th Camaro is almost done being built by Steilow for Charlie too. It's a yellow '69 running the new ZR1 supercharged motor, trans, and brakes. Charlie takes ALL his cars on the Hot Rod Power Tours too. These are not garage queens.

Here is the "Project X" Steilow car. The 10th car Steilow built

The "Red Witch". This was the first Camaro Steilow built. It's been in Hot Rod numerous times, and has completed no less than 3 Power Tours with Charlie

The Red Witches 600+ cubic inch motor

"The Mule". This is my favorite car in his collection.

And here is why it's my favorite. Besides it looking amazing, it's got a 1200hp twin turbo motor

The original pace car from the 1967 Indy 500. Not a clone/tribute. This is the actual car which paced the race. Chevy also made identical tribute cars. But, this is the one and only real deal.

One of his track toys... a Panoz GT

A real Shebly GT350 R race car. This car is the most winning GT350 ever. It held the title for the B Production series for over 3 years.

The craziest car in his collection.. a '55 Chevy with a P51 Mustang fighter plane motor!

Another of his track toys. This is a clone Shelby GT350R, which looks very similar to his real GT350 racer.

Charlie just dropped this motor in, and fired it for the first time the morning I took this shot. It's a stroked Windsor with over 13:1 comp, and a TON of other work. This car gets raced hard, and is amazing on the track.

OK, those were some of Charlie's toys. I'll post more from the other collections in a bit. I hope you enjoy the pics, as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Brian,
Glad you came up to visit, next time I will take you to a few other "Ford" garages to check out their race/show cars. You forgot to mention Charlie's Honda 600 !!!!!
