Is it possible for a tire to cause steering wheel wobble simply by swapping to a different rim?
I just swapped my original front tires onto different (not new) rims and now have a wobble (left - right) on the steering wheel. It's most noticeable between 40 - 50mph. The tire shop (America's Tire) verified that the rims are not bent / warped.
When the wheels were off the car, I noticed that the right front / rear tires were worn on the inside so I'm replacing them. I did not have a noticeable wobble with the old setup. I have another setup of wheels I can put on front to isolate the problem to the new wheel setup, but it would tell me if it's the rim or tire.
Any thoughts?
