Ok guys... tell your boss your coming in late on July 9th. It took a lot of work for Julie and me to convince you that Valley Circle was worth the way early drive... don't make us work so hard on this one. Trust me - This event is awesome! Let's meet in Camarillo around 6:30pm and head down the 101 to Van Nuys on July 8th. They are encouraging cruising up and down the Blvd a few times rather than parking all night so, fill your tank :)

The Van Nuys Cruising Association (VNCA) has started-up (or restarted) Cruise Nights on Van Nuys Blvd the 2nd Wednesday of each Month. So Cal forums all over the Internet are talking about this huge event. Rumor has it that several hundred cars showed-up on June 10th. The VNCA has made arrangements with the GM at Rydell Cheverolet, who offered-up an empty lot for a staging area. However, this is a cruising event, which means less park time and more cruising up and down the street. There are rules though - No Alchohol, No drugs, No Burnouts, etc. Don't piss the cops off and we'll be able to enjoy this event. The night starts at 8pm

The Valley is full of very cool cars and celebrities. This is the place to be!

The next cruise is on Wednesday, July 8th. I know it's in the middle of the week but, you only live once and this is an event you want included in your memories! If this cruise night is anything like it was in the '70's, it will blow your mind!

Here's the flyer for July 8th.

Sandie and I went to a car show and cruise a few years ago up in SLO, it was a
blast and we got to meet most the staff of Car Craft. Lompoc has a cruise night
the friday before the Sept car show each year. Its a lot of fun, I would suggest
those of you that can not make this even try and make the Lompoc one (it is a
little closer for those in Santa Barbara, less traffic on the drive too).

Cruise night is Sept 4th frm 5 pm til 7 pm, 10 dollar fee.

The Lompoc cruise is certainly worthy of its own thread and an entry on the calendar. Not sure if we can make it but, certainly would like to try. Do you have a link for further info?

Wait... did you say $10 fee for the cruise night? How do they charge for a cruise night, are they cruising on a controlled street? Or, is it more like a cruise-in or meet at a specific location?

Last night was AWESOME! Brought back some great memories and I'll guarantee that we'll be there earlier next month!

The Van Nuys Blvd cruise is so much more than Vintage cars, as suggested by others. Although there were many sweet early rides, late model eye candy roamed the streets as well. Especially noticable were the late '60 - early '70 muscle cars that left us in awe.

Although not quite as threatening in my 2003 Mustang Cobra with it's factory supercharger under the hood, Julie and I enjoyed an evening that took us back over 20 years, when we cruised this very stretch in my '66 Mustang.

Cruising has no regard for year, make, or model of the car or the Gear Head. It's simply a way of life.

Now I'm jealous....I knew I should have cleaned up the cars real quick and went!

They actually block off Ocean Ave with barracades and only allow cars in through the
Police Station parking lot. Ocean is also SR1, so its kinda crusing a historic highway.
Traffic is detoured around the event.

Oh yeah, there was NO SMOKE from the fire! We went on down with the knowledge that if it was smokey, we were gonna just chalk it up as getting out of the house and come back home. It was warm, we were outside on the Blvd in t-shirts at 10pm yakking! Good times, sorry you guys missed it! NEXT MONTH FOR SUREEEE!

I 'extended' my nap that evening figuring it would be smokey.
