Vista Rod Run 20 / Smokin' Q Classic:

The Vista Village Business Association announces the 20th Annual Vista Rod Run and a Smokin' Q Classic. a California State Championship Barbeque Competition sanctioned by the Kansas City barbeque Society. The BBQ Competition will begin on Friday, July 31 with judging and awards on Saturday, August 1st. The public will also have an opportunity to participate in the "Taste of Barbeque" to sample the championship recipies.
On Sunday, August 2nd from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can experience one of the largest car shows in the San Diego area as well as one of Vista's biggest community events. Car lovers will be drooling over more than 300 of the finest hot rods around. Rod Run entry form and Rod Run Vendor Application
This year a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Girls Inc. of San Diego.
Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, Best Upholstery, Best Paint, Best Graphics, Mayor’s Choice, People’s Choice, Longest Distance, Club Participation, Best Woodie, Best Custom Motorcycle and others.
Music will be provided on a stage by the fountain in the corner of Main Street and Michigan Avenue .
Last year’s sponsors include the City of Vista , The Transmission Source, Advanced Collision Repair & Tow Inc., Certified Transmission, Chipotle, SandL Graphics, Toyota of Escondido, Kenny's Kar Klinic, Saturn of West 78, Krikorian Theater and West Escondido Automotive & Transmission.
