Dear Past Auto Cross Participant,
As the new A/X Co-Chair I would like to formally invite you to our first A/X event of 2010! We will again be dodging those pesky orange cones on March 28th at Earl Warren Show Grounds and it is shaping up to be another fantastic day. As in the past we will have practice runs in the morning, followed by a BBQ lunch and our timed runs in the afternoon. The last few events of 2009 we were able to work some of the bugs out of the timing equipment and develop a smoother, faster way to move the run groups through the day. We should now be able to get a few more laps on the course in the morning sessions for all drivers.
Remember this is a car control event and while tops speeds are limited the course will be set up to help improve those drivers who want to improve skills needed in day to day driving in a fun and safe environment while still challenging those drivers who are more competitive in nature. A little something for everyone as they say.
So please see the attached flyer for event information and send in your entry early to insure your place in what will be another great Auto Cross Event brought to you by the Santa Barbara Region of the PCA. I look forward to seeing you return and exercise your car with us.
Thanks,
Dan Byers

Maybe we can get a cruise together and zoom up after our meet! Free to spectate?? What time does it start?
free to spectate, there's not a lot of parking because most is peoples pit areas when not running, but it usually isn't full.
~9am, runs through the afternoon, usually out by around 5pm

I'm anticipating some excitement on the track, when you run with the IRS in place! :D

Blind,
I'm game for it if you show me the ropes.

Yeah I'll probably look like a total newbie with the amount of changes I've made since the last auto-x in Feb, LOL
RonDogg, they don't allow ride-alongs but I could give you some pointers there, and they do have SCCA certified instructors available that can ride-along, they're a nice group of guys and very helpful despite the fact they're porsche guys, haha.
If you're planning to go, get the flyer from their website so you can print it out and mail it in, day of signups cost more and they may fill up.

It is a good time for sure, I'm sending in my registration at the end of the week. Don't worry about being a newb, they are a great group and open to everyone. I have been to 2 so far and it's fun as hell.

Had my fiance taking pictures for me and my friends, my buddy in the black vette beat me, but this was my first event with the IRS and new H&R race springs so I'll catch him next month ;)

Looks like you guys had a great time! Glenn and I had been up since 3am and really felt we wouldn't survive the drive up there and back LOL! We need to coordinate for next time! Cool pics, Carli!!

IRS - Pros / Cons????? How'd it do? Any tweaking needed?
It did great, results wont be out until end of the week they said, but I think I did in the top half of the field, it drives totally different, I can trail brake, and acclerate through the apex now, rather than having to only brake in a straight line and wait until after the apex to hit the gas.
Only tweaking needed is to me to break my habits from the solid axle setup :)
