Although I hate the 5-speed gear ratio, the overall performance and comfort of the 5th gen is a winner! But, I'd rather trade-in Julie's '07 for a 5.0 before ditchin' the Cobra.

I don't trust those numbers.

Why did they dyno in 4th gear instead of 5th? 5th is 1:1 in the new 5.0 Mustangs. 4th is 1.37:1.

Inside Line has been known to make high power numbers on their dyno. They did a 2010 GT500 and it made 511rwhp when everyone else using a Dyno Jet was in the 470rwhp range.

I'm guessing the rwhp number is closer to 370 on a Dyno Jet. Which is what some of the old Terminator Cobras made stock which isn't bad at all.

377 is still showing that Ford underrated these motors big time. The big telling will be the Trap Speeds they put down.

Of course, the best news we discovered on Friday we can only hint at. We believe those dyno figures just have to be accurate, given the outrageous numbers these two 'Stangs threw down at our test track. But you'll have to check back with us bright and early Monday morning to find those out...

I found out why everyone has been dynoing the 5.0 GT's in 4th instead of 5th. In 5th gear (1:1) the car is hitting the vehicles electronic speed limiter. The speed limiter is set to 149mph. At redline in 5th the speed is 165mph with 3.31 gears. 152mph with 3.55's and 138mph with 3.73's.

I like them more, needs less plastic. RaceSkinz is just finishing up their last pieces for the 2010s. I'll be at their Warehouse next week, curious to see what they did with the rears.

I was not a big fan of the new rear either, but they are starting to grow on me........the new 5.0 is pretty cool.

That's actually a good point... I wasn't a fan of the 4th Gens 'til I found the '03 and it took 'til the end of '06 for me to wake-up to the 5th Gens. The 5.0 and 6-speed are certain teaser even with the funky butts ;)
