Julie and I were invited to a joint Christmas Party hosted by Donny and Susie Caccamise, who own Horsepower for an Hour and DMC Transmissions in Ventura. We met some great people, who are serious about their technical skills and customer service. Since West Coast GearHeads Magazine provides the events report for the Horsepower for an Hour Automotive Talk Radio Show, Donny asked that Julie and I join them for this festive event. We were pleasantly surprised by Donny and Susie's generosity for their ...
2011 was a rough year for me... after every car event (a few a month), my knee would swell and I wouldn't be able to walk for a few days. Mid-year, I was sent to physical therapy, but that didn't help. After procrastinating, I finally asked the doc for an MRI, that showed a torn meniscus which was fixed yesterday and now I'm recovering. . Crap - I first started feeling the pain at the gym a year ago. The bad news, I'll be a bit slow during the holidays. And need to another surgery this ...
Hey GearHeads, 2011 is wrapping-up and the holidays are upon us. There are tons of charity events happening throughout the remainder of December and as much as we would like to attend all the events, there's always something the limits us. But, there are so many less fortunate people that have limitations too. We hope your generosity extends to the needy this holiday by attending as many of the the special holiday charity events as possible. We're about to send out next ...
We've endured so many problems with running this website on a shared web host and have reached a point where we've out-grown the server. We're currently testing a Virtual Server and will be moving soon. Registered users will receive an email alert telling them that the access to WestCoastGearHeads.com may be intermittent while the domain name re-points to the new server. There are lots of advantages of moving to a Virtual Private Server (VPS). This is a bit technical so, just know it's ...
At approximately 12noon PDT today, the server that WestCoastGearHeads.com resides went down. It's 4:15 and the server seems to be consistently up, but we might have suffered a hit to the database. We're checking into this and will let you know, if we need to take the system down to repair the damage. Stay-tuned... and thanks for your patience
As a new user on http://www.ColoradoHPJunkies.com, it's customary to write an introduction and show some pics of your car. After writing it I kinda liked it and thought I should add it to my blog. Here's what I wrote: So an intro... hmmm, I have a couple of Mustangs an '07 GT/CS and an '03 Cobra. The GT/CS was mine for about a year until we found the '03 sitting on a used KIA lot. They didn't know what it was and had a killer price on it. Just before sitting down to make a deal, ...

Author: Glenn Eldridge - One of the great benefits of being part of the West Coast GearHeads Online Magazine Crew is that we get to cruise to lots of great car shows. But, what we love the most is listening to other GearHeads tell us all about their projects. I'm sure you've noticed that if you walk up to the guy standing next to a cool car and simply say... "Nice car," you are almost guaranteed a 30 minute conversation and perhaps a new friend. And it doesn't even have to be their ...

Author: Glenn Eldridge - August 20th, 2011 was a great day and the famous Ojai Playhouse is an awesome theater to premiere the new documentary, "B5141872" by Allan Crocket. Six months in the making, countless hours of production, and tons of footage it was time to debut Tiger Racing's 2012 Boss S Mustang on the big screen. Forget the drama and high-dollar endorsements, this documentary conveys the heart and soul ...

Technological marvels like the Ford Motors Focus Electric and the Nissan Leaf are lighting the way in which for the future of the automotive industry. Dealerships will have to adjust, perhaps even more than consumers, as many maintenance packages they offer will no longer be applicable. The tech shift could be a good thing for Ford, but a bad thing for Ford Motors dealers, suggests Automotive News. That's because dealers may have missed out on the opportunity Best Buy and the Geek Squad have seized: ...

Ventura was fortunate to have Jalopy Joe. His car show on the 3rd Sunday of every month was sure something to look forward to for all car and bike people. No one was ever excluded, shows were always diverse and we all met new friends because of Jalopy Joe's shop, cruises and pin-up shows. RIP Joe
