• Maximum Motorsports IRS Tie Rods

      Another great pictorial by GearHead RonDogg. Ron's 2003 Cobra has become quite the road course beast. In this article, he swaps his stock tie rods for Maximum MotorSports rods.

      While the IRS was up in the air I figured it was a good time to toss the old Tie Rods and replaced them with the Maximum Motorsports Adjustable Tie Rods. These MM pieces feel lighter than stock, and are a lot beefier. They allow for bumpsteer adjustment, which is nice for fine tuning the suspension.

      Installation isn't too bad. The stock Tie Rods need to be removed. A Tie Rod puller on the steering knuckle makes it fairly easy. The inside mount is a simple nut and bolt.

      MM includes 2 nuts to hold the stud in place while tightening the lock nut on the top:








      Inner mount (For 03/04 Cobras, the stock [black] spacer is used along with one MM spacer. 3 spacers are then placed below the Heim Joint. The arrangement differs for 99/01):
