The Coachmen are known for organizing nice car events and the Island's Restaurant Cruise is no exception. The Coachmen greet you as you drive in, hand you a discount to one of the local restaurants including Island's, and even give you a free raffle ticket. How cool is that! Newbury Park weather is perfect for breakin' the car out and meeting-up with a couple hundred local classics and Hot-Rods. Be sure bring the car to the Coachmen's last Island's Cruise event of 2011 on October 1st.
The West Coast GearHead crew were at the event taking photos and talking shop - with probably a bit more talking then workin' the camera. We always run into some cool people at car meets like this. Donny Caccamise, the host of Horsepower for an Hour was at the meet checking out all the cool classics. Donny will be broadcasting live at ATRA's 1st Annual Car Show at DCH Honda in Oxnard. ATRA expects a great turn-out of Classics, Hot-Rods, Muscle and Modified cars at their show. - Keep reading...

We stopped-by to see Larry Callahan, owner of Pro-Touring.com, who had his '68 twin turbo Camaro pro-touring car on display. This bad boy ran in the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational a couple of years ago in Pahrump, NV. Larry has been pretty active in the pro-touring scene teaming-up with Optima Battery and Goodyear to promote pro-touring events around the country.


Also ran into Ray McClelland owner of Full Throttle Kustomz. Ray has been traveling around the country working on projects for West Coast Customs, Gene Winfield, and a few other notables who call him in to work his tuning magic. Ray just came back from the Sturgis MC Ralley, check-out his blog... let me slip in a photo of his ride!
Ray's '07 Shelby is in the shop getting a whole new look, we're looking forward to getting some photos online for you GearHeads when it's done. Take a look at http://www.fullthrottlekustomz.com, this guy's serious about bad-___ machines. He tells us that he's working on several new products and seemed pretty excited about his projects.
