Julie and I were invited to a joint Christmas Party hosted by Donny and Susie Caccamise, who own Horsepower for an Hour and DMC Transmissions in Ventura. We met some great people, who are serious about their technical skills and customer service. Since West Coast GearHeads Magazine provides the events report for the Horsepower for an Hour Automotive Talk Radio Show, Donny asked that Julie and I join them for this festive event. We were pleasantly surprised by Donny and Susie's generosity for their employees and those who have helped them succeed in 2011.

During the evening, Donny had announced that he just learned DMC Transmissions had earned a Company of the Year award from the United States Chamber of Commerce. They are apparently doing something right, receiving an award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is quite a feat!

Just after a great dinner at the Pierpont Inn, Donny, Dennis, and I had a discussion about ATRA (Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association), which is the world's largest organization of its kind. I learned some very interesting things about ATRA, which gave me an idea for an article... stay-tuned
