This just in from Mustang 5.0 Magazine:
Excitement over ProMedia Publishing's new "NMCA West" drag race series is really starting to build.
We've been watching Internet forums very closely, and it appears many of you are planning to be a part of the racing, car-show and autocross action at the 2012 season's first event, being held on April 20-22 at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, California.
While 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords is really looking forward to seeing all sorts of Mustang badness at the event, we really would love for West Coast 'Stangbangers to join us at our place (the Source Interlink Media Tech Center in El Segundo) on Friday, April 20, for an Open House extravaganza to kick off the race weekend!
That's right, we're opening the doors to "5.0 West" and hosting a little appreciation party; our way of saying "thanks" to all of you, for faithfully supporting 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords magazine each month. Of course I'll be there, but the much-bigger deal is that Editor Steve "Big Steve" Turner is flying out to SoCal to be a part of the festivities.
The Open House is being held from 10:00AM to 2:00PM; enough time for everyone to enjoy a few hours of great people, good food and soft drinks, an impromptu cruise-in/Mustang show (by all means, BRING YOUR RIDES), and a raffle of some fantastic prizes (like cool parts for Mustangs), before cruising out to Auto Club Dragway (did somebody say, "caravan?").
The photos here give you a little idea of what our West Coast workspace looks like. We'll post more details as the date gets closer, but to give us a start on figuring out the number of guests, please send an "Open House RSVP" e-mail to 5.0mailbag@sorc.com.
Be sure to type "Open House RSVP" in the Subject line of your message, and make sure you include your full name, address, DEFINITELY a phone number you can be reached at, and the year/model Mustang (LX, GT, GT500, Cobra, etc) that you will be bringing to park in our cruise-in area. It's imperative you provide a way for us to reach you, so provide detailed information in your RSVP.
Yes, we realize it is a Friday "daytime" event, and that could mean you'll have to take time off from work, school, etc. But we hope you're able to arrange your schedule and attend the Open House. We're sure it's going to be a great time!
