Home security camera system

I bought a 4 camera system from Costco, I need to mount the cameras trying
to figure out the best places. This comes from our next door neighbor is a
total nutjob and I dont trust him in the least. Long story, but he said that I
have made his life a living hell since he moved in because I never waved.....

Anyone installed something like this have pointers?

hide all the wiring as best you can. camera cable is very easy to cut.

Point all the cameras at his house and freak the crap out of him LOL j/k.

You probably already thought of this but...

Depending on where you mount the camera, think about whether you want it to be seen as a deterrant or to catch them in the act.

I would consider where your pain points are and have cameras pointed at each. Obvious points are the easiest or weakest links of entry but, with four cameras, you probably can't cover them all. I would do temporary test mounts at different places to view on the monitor to see what covers what you suspect someone would use as entry and the areas that are most likely to be affected. After a few trial views then mount the cameras. Ed had good advice, don't make it easy for someone to compromise the cameras. Mount them out of reach and hide the wires in either the walls or route the cable through a small metal pipe and paint it the same color as the house.

I was thinking of mounting the ones in the front high in the eves, I have
two peaks on the front of my house I figured the two wide angles out in
the front, and the two narrow in the back facing forward at the gates:

You are getting two different neighbors confused. The one born in a dead
dog isnt the one who said it was pink. That was a woman on the next street
over who said that. When we bought the house it was a yellow/cream. The
owner painted it orange/pumpkin. Over the years it has turned pinkish. I
think that picture was taken around 2003 or 2004. We bought in 1999. It
still isnt "pink" but its damn close. We both want to paint it gray. Just the
trim is needing attention, and painting a house isnt cheap. So it stays pink.

Sounds like we need a Rusty's / INO bash. Nov 27th? That's the day after T-day. If that's a good day, I'd be up for bringing a bunch of cars with us... maybe even a couple non-Mustangs :shock: I'll setup a separate thread.
